Governance & Leadership

How Quincy Catholic Schools is guided, supported, and unified

A Unified Structure for Catholic Education in Quincy

Quincy Catholic Schools is guided by a shared governance and leadership structure designed to strengthen collaboration among our four parish schools while preserving the unique identity of each parish community.

In September 2025, the pastors of Quincy’s four Catholic parishes with elementary schools, together with Bishop Thomas John Paprocki, formally adopted new bylaws establishing Quincy Catholic Schools as a unified system. This milestone reflects a shared commitment to long-term stability, transparency, and Catholic mission.

Why This Structure Matters for Families

This unified approach ensures:

  • Clear and consistent leadership across all four schools
  • Strong collaboration between parishes and school leaders
  • Shared responsibility for challenges and opportunities
  • Continued stability for students, families, and school communities

Each school remains a Pre-Kindergarten through 8th-grade campus, rooted in its parish and community. There are no plans to change or close school facilities.

  • The pastors of the four Quincy parishes with elementary schools
  • A diocesan representative

This board provides oversight of mission, budgets, and leadership, ensuring that decisions align with Catholic teaching and the long-term vitality of Catholic education in Quincy.

  • Supporting principals and school leadership

Together, the Corporate Board and School Advisory Board work collaboratively to guide the system with clarity, accountability, and faith-centered leadership.

Leadership of the School System

Quincy Catholic Schools is led administratively by Dr. Christopher Gill, Chief Administrative Leader.

Dr. Gill works closely with parish pastors, principals, and board members to support collaboration across schools, improve operational consistency, and ensure that all decisions serve students, families, and educators.

“By working together as one, we can share both the challenges and the blessings across all four campuses, ensuring the long-term vitality of Catholic education in Quincy.”
— Dr. Christopher Gill

A Shared Mission, Preserved Identities

While governance and operations are unified, each school continues to reflect its parish’s traditions, culture, and community.

This structure allows the schools to operate collectively, creating fairness in both responsibility and opportunity, while honoring the distinct character that families value in their parish schools.

Strategic Planning & Ongoing Work

As part of this governance structure, Quincy Catholic Schools operates under a shared strategic plan developed with community input and approved by school leadership.

Committees composed of board members and community volunteers continue to work toward goals that strengthen Catholic identity, academic excellence, and long-term sustainability.
