Supporting Catholic Education in Quincy

Quincy Catholic Schools exists to support strong, faith-filled Catholic education for families in Quincy and the surrounding area. Together with our parishes, school leaders, and community, we serve students from preschool through eighth grade across four Catholic elementary schools.

Our schools are rooted in parish life, guided by shared values, and united by a commitment to faith formation, academic excellence, and service.

Who We Are

Quincy Catholic Schools supports four parish-based Catholic elementary schools:

  • Blessed Sacrament School
  • St. Dominic School
  • St. Francis Solanus School
  • St. Peter School

Each school maintains its own identity, traditions, and parish community while sharing a common mission to educate the whole child, spiritually, academically, and socially.

Quincy Catholic Schools exists to strengthen collaboration, provide shared support where appropriate, and help ensure Catholic education remains accessible and sustainable for future generations.

How Our Schools Are Led and Supported

Each school is led through collaboration among:

  • The Parish Pastor, who provides spiritual leadership and parish support
  • The School Principal, who oversees the daily life of the school
  • The Quincy Catholic Schools Advisory Board, which offers guidance and perspective
  • Dr. Chris Gill, Chief Administrative Leader of Quincy Catholic Schools

This collaborative model respects the role of each parish while encouraging shared responsibility and thoughtful coordination across all four schools. Together, these leaders work to support students, families, teachers, and staff.

Quincy Catholic Schools is supported by the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois through the Office for Catholic Schools. This partnership helps ensure consistent guidance, accountability, and mission alignment.

A Connected Catholic Education Community in Quincy

Families in Quincy benefit from a uniquely connected Catholic education community.

Quincy Catholic Schools serves students from preschool through eighth grade. Many families continue their Catholic education journey at Quincy Notre Dame High School, which offers Catholic education for grades nine through twelve. Beyond high school, Quincy University, a Catholic liberal arts university in the heart of Quincy, provides undergraduate, graduate, and select doctoral programs.

While each institution has its own leadership and governance, together they reflect a shared commitment to faith-based education. In a community of approximately 39,000 residents, families have the opportunity to pursue Catholic education from early childhood through advanced degrees, a rare and meaningful strength of our community.

Choosing a school is a personal decision, and learning more often begins with a simple conversation.
