A Tradition Rooted in Faith and Learning
For more than 150 years, Catholic education in Quincy has been grounded in a shared commitment to faith formation, academic excellence, and service to others. Generations of families have entrusted their children to parish schools that shaped not only strong students, but faithful disciples prepared to lead lives of integrity and purpose.
This enduring legacy reflects the dedication of parish communities, educators, clergy, and families who have sustained Catholic education through changing times, always guided by the mission to form the whole child in mind, heart, and spirit.
Growing Together Through Collaboration
As Quincy Catholic Schools looked toward the future, leaders recognized the importance of strengthening collaboration across parishes and schools while preserving each school’s unique identity.
In February 2011, the Quincy Catholic Elementary Schools (QCES) Leadership Team was formed to encourage communication and shared planning among the schools. Over the following years, this collaboration deepened through community dialogue, educator involvement, and parish leadership engagement.
In 2019, Quincy Catholic Schools partnered with Partners in Mission, a consulting organization specializing in Catholic school systems, to explore long-term strategies that would support sustainability, academic consistency, and Catholic identity.
Listening to the Community
Community voices have played a vital role in shaping the path forward.
In April 2022, listening sessions were held across the four parishes to gather feedback from families, parishioners, educators, and community members. These conversations reflected both deep care for Catholic education and a shared desire to ensure its long-term vitality in Quincy.
Responding to this feedback, a Provisional Advisory Board representing all four parishes was formed in February 2023 to guide the next phase of collaboration and planning.
A New Chapter in Leadership
In October 2023, Quincy Catholic Schools welcomed its first Chief Administrative Leader, marking an important step toward a unified school system supported by shared governance and clear leadership.
This leadership structure created the foundation for:
- Coordinated academic planning
- Strengthened Catholic identity
- Clear communication and accountability
- Long-term sustainability across all schools
Building a Shared Vision for the Future
In February 2024, Quincy Catholic Schools launched a comprehensive strategic planning process that included a community survey and the work of volunteer committees representing all four schools.
This effort culminated in a strategic planning retreat in April 2024, where more than 80 community members came together to collaborate on a shared vision for Catholic education in Quincy. The resulting strategic plan was formally adopted in May 2024, establishing a roadmap for the years ahead.
